The Dirt Sheet – 10/7/24

Welcome back to The Dirt Sheet, where we dig deep into the rumors swirling around your favorite wrestling promotions, from Atlas Championship Entertainment (ACE) to the far reaches of World Carnival of Wrestling (WCW). This week, we’ve got some juicy news on upcoming events, potential debuts, and shocking returns. Let’s get into it!

Atlas Championship Entertainment (ACE) – Shakeup Coming at “Shoot to Thrill”?

With ACE’s Shoot to Thrill event just around the corner, insiders are buzzing about potential surprises that could reshape the company’s landscape. Sources are hinting at a major debut or return during the pay-per-view, which could involve a former ACE World Champion returning to reclaim their spot at the top. Could it be the return of Chernabog, the monsterous former champion, or perhaps even Ward Rees, coming out of retirement for one last run?  There’s also been rumblings possibly about The Royal Raven Nathaniel Blake returning.

Beyond that, it’s all but confirmed that we’ll be seeing Johnny Roach and The Chaos Riders taking on Tavita Silk and the Sons of Samoa in a 6-man tag match that is sure to bring the house down. If that’s not enough, we are almost assuredly set to get a ACE World Tag Team Championship rematch between new champions Nigerian Hit Squad and former champions Jarvis Allen and Arn Fargo of Barclay Investment Group.

International Wrestling Alliance (IWA) – Championship Turmoil

Over at IWA, drama continues to unfold after the controversial finish to their World Heavyweight Championship match last month. Rumors are circulating that the company is planning a massive triple-threat rematch between current champion Jack “The Bruiser” Donovan, Rico Sanchez, and The British Assassin. With no clear resolution from their last encounter, this showdown could finally determine who the real top dog in IWA is.

There’s also growing chatter about an upcoming international tour that could see IWA branching out into new markets, with stops in Japan, Mexico, and even a rumored partnership with Oriental Wrestling Organization (OWO) for a cross-promotional event later this year.

Pacific Coast Wrestling (PCW) – New Talent Invasion?

Pacific Coast Wrestling (PCW) is known for its fast-paced, hard-hitting action, but word on the street is that they’re about to shake things up with a wave of new talent. Several top names from the independent scene have been spotted backstage at recent PCW shows, including Jackson King and Kyler Bass, who are rumored to be making their debut in the coming weeks.

With PCW’s annual Pacific Slam event fast approaching, it seems like the perfect time for these indie stars to make their presence felt. Could we see an influx of new challengers eyeing the PCW Heavyweight Title, currently held by “The Outlaw” Jesse Rivers? Only time will tell.

American Pro Wrestling (APW) – Tag Team Turmoil on the Horizon

Over in American Pro Wrestling, things are heating up in the tag team division. The reigning champions, The Midnight Express, have been dominant for months, but with teams like The Savage Outlaws and The Blue Blazers gunning for the gold, there’s bound to be a shakeup soon. Rumor has it APW is planning a huge Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Title match at their next pay-per-view, which could change the landscape of the division.

On top of that, whispers of a potential women’s division expansion have been circulating, with new signings expected to debut soon.

Gulf Coast Wrestling (GCW) – Big Free Agent Signing Coming?

Gulf Coast Wrestling (GCW) is quietly building momentum with their hard-hitting Southern-style wrestling, and sources are saying they’ve just locked down a huge free-agent signing. While no names have been confirmed, it’s being speculated that former IWA and APW star Sammy Steele could be making his way to GCW to become their next top heel.

This could be a game-changer for the promotion as they look to expand beyond the Gulf Coast and bring their product to a national audience. Keep an eye on this one!

World Carnival of Wrestling (WCW) – International Stars Collide

The World Carnival of Wrestling (WCW) continues to impress with its roster of global talent, and it looks like they’ve got some major international showdowns planned for their next big event. According to backstage rumors, Simbi Loa from ACE may be set to collide with El Jaguar from WCW in a dream match that fans around the world have been clamoring for. If this happens, it could be one of the most exciting inter-promotional matches in recent memory.

Additionally, WCW is reportedly in talks to bring in several Japanese stars from New Horizon Pro Wrestling to compete in their upcoming Global Warfare tournament.

That’s all for now, folks! Keep checking The Dirt Sheet for all the latest scoops, and remember, where there’s smoke, there’s fire!
